Most of these people say they’re looking for someone attractive – in shape, good looking, physically appetizing – yet, the unabashed exclusion of certain people implies that you can’t be attractive if you’re “black”, “Asian”, “Latino”, etc.

I am black myself and I think it’s ridiculous. If you are attracted to just one particular race, please elaborate and explain why that is the case. Most of the time I see people say they only like those things but never actually explain what X race has over Y & Z races aside from the fact that they are lighter or darker than they themselves are or they think of stereotypes associated with them.
For guys of X race who aren’t into their own race, it’s called assimilation. I’ve seen so much of it on Grindr it’s ridiculous. It is also called micro-aggression, which is easier to dismiss when you are perceived as the majority or ARE the majority. One of the people I know and met on a gay networking site is white and he believes that crap is racist and prejudice as well, and has even dealt with ignorance from some black men he’s talked to.
Someone I’ve worked with who was black himself claimed he would not date black guys. Why? He claimed they were all feminine, queens, and bottom. I just laughed because 1) I am on the masculine end of the gender spectrum, 2) He is a feminine queen himself, 3) I’ve met plenty of other black men who are not bottom. I didn’t know if it was ignorant bliss, self loathing, or assuming everyone was like him because birds of a feather…
And you do know that racism still IS pretty much everywhere to an extent? It just gets dismissed by people who think it is no longer an issue anymore. Just because it isn’t direct and physically violent doesn’t mean it isn’t there. To ignore it makes it worse. I hate it when people equate it to bullying and say “ignore it” and you won’t give it power, especially when people call others then N-word (I hate that word, regardless of the color of who says it). So by that logic, I will ignore a wildfire and it will go away instead of burning everyone alive.
