i ton’t think he’s arrogant, i think he’s the opposite. he appears to want to engage in *real* conversation, not field compliments. He’s probably tired of guys who say “Nice pic”, and then back off because they are afraid to approach him. Not a douche.
Allan if they compliment you and you say thanks you need to follow up with a “so how’s ur day” or a compliment urself. Just writing thanks makes the other guy think you are not interested at all, and are just being polite to them. CONVERSATION SKILLS DUDE – YOU NEED SOME!!!!

I do think the whole “don’t say just hi” thing is stupid. What exactly do those people expect? A cover letter? From a stranger? It’s ridiculous and entitled, and it makes no sense because I bet their actual response or lack thereof has much more to do with the picture than the message.
