  1. I thought it was generally accepted here that listing races you’re not interested in = racism. But saying what race you Are into is racist now too? Please. And it’s not like he said “whites only.”

“If I like the race, how could that be racist?” – Seinfeld

  2. If saying you’re generally not attracted to certain races is racist then anyone claiming to be heterosexual or homosexual is sexist

  3. It’s bad enough he has a soda in his hands and may spill it on the bed. But what’s with the whole beige and brown motif of that bedroom?

  4. he is not a douche and doesn’t deserve to be put on here. I applaud him for using inclusive language when stating a preference.

  5. The more I look through this site, the more I realize the requirements for being featured. Basically anyone who doesn’t shit out skittles and rainbows while displaying a willing to have sex with every single person on the planet without any regard to anything whatsoever, is a douche.

Come now people, if you’re human you’re going to have preferences. I dont want to kiss someone who smells like they brushed their teeth with a pack of cigarettes. Does that make me a douche? According to this site, yes, but in real life, of course not! Its just a preference. If someone has a preference of a type of guy they like, their age, height, weight, race, etc, etc, etc, how is that any different?

I prefer to not have sex with someone from my grandfathers nursing home. DOUCHE!

I prefer to not have sex with goats. DOUCHE!

I prefer to not have sex with someone who weighs more than a PT Cruiser. DOUCHE!

Cmon people, get off it. Its time for you all to take a step back and look at yourselves. Every single one of you have a preference on guys – even if its that you dont like guys who qualify for this site.

  6. @Luddite: I assumed it was a dorm room until I realized he was 28. He’s way too old for that shit.

Anyway, I think that asinine blockophile line is enough to put him comfortably in the three-star-douche zone.

  7. @come off it

Come off it! You can’t be serious, really.

There’s far more substance to a portion of the posts that you (need) to believe.

I’m wondering who would seek to equate ‘sexual preference’ with racist and homophobic language ‘no femmes’, ‘no Asians’, ‘no baldies’.

Are you really trying to suggest that language cannot harm people? Or that racism and interalised homophobia are an indication of sound mental health?

When I am sexually selective, I do not need to be pejorative, damning, or participate in inflicting damage on minority groups.

It’s about making a place for empathy in people’s sexually selections, behaviours and words.

  8. and @ Black Saab,

oh, my apologies for the grammatical errors in my prior post. It can’t mean that I wrote quickly, and must mean I can’t speak English.

Your language on this topic is implicitly racist and homophobic. Would you like an explanation?

  9. I don’t think he’s racist, I think he handled his preference for white guys just fine–he didn’t insult non-whites, he simply said that he likes white guys. I think that’s an acceptable way to state one’s preference in a positive way.

But then he turns it all around with that douchey block button remark. He belongs here for his blockophilia.

  10. …as a side note, he probably wouldn’t have gotten on this site right all if he didn’t add the “BLOCK!” comment.

This is starting to be like the To Catch a Predator thing on Dateline.

People are chasing 13 year old “virgin” girls on chatrooms and walking into the house and saying OH SHIT, I KNEW CHRIS HANSEN WAS GONNA WALK OUT.

People are posting dickish profiles on Grindr and saying “goddamn it now I got on that ‘douchebags’ site.”

  11. Matt, it’s not racism to have a preference, we all have preferences. A preference becomes racist when it’s assembled upon monolithic or stereotypical assumptions. Someone who says “no Asians” for example, can be assumed to be racist because he’s 1) discounting an entire group of people and 2) doing so upon assumptions of what “Asian” means.

If, however, someone says “I prefer XXXX” we can’t necessarily assume racism because 1) the person is not necessarily discounting those outside his preference and 2) his preference might be informed by factors other than an assumption of monolithic traits. A person may prefer white guys, for example, because they like the aesthetics of light hair and fair skin. It’s possible but less likely one would find that in groups other than “white guys” so one increases one’s chances of finding that by stating a preference for the group in which that combination is most common. Further, stating a positive preference does not necessarily discount others
outside that particular group–so for all we know, the guy that says “Into white guys” might be quite willing to consider other guys outside of that category if he finds them physically attractive.

  12. At Parker once again let me explain to you. If someone list on their profile that they are Latinos it doesn’t necessarily means they are Mexicans. Two things we can learn from this: One you are ignorant or two you don’t know any other Latin country besides Mexico. Poor Parker.

  13. @Bear

Your understanding seems convoluted. You start out acknowledging that sexual preferences, though hard to consciously control, can still be racist. But then you say, oh well if you pretend like you aren’t racist, or if you say it sorta nicely, then you’re not!? WTF is that about?

If a job application said “NO BLACK APPLICANTS” that would be racist, we seem to agree on that. If a job application said “whites only,” that would also be fucking racist. That’s the part where we don’t seem to agree. If it said “prefer white candidates,” in very polite words, that would also be racist. And even a job application that said nothing about race, but the employer would secretly discount every black candidate and say “we decided to go a different route,” is a racist situation.

People try to build a boundary in so that professional, public or intellectual behavior can be racist, while the same behavior if private, physical or intimate, can never be called racist even if it IS blatantly racist. That’s fucked up – racist is racist. Racism is personal shit. Racism is in-your-face and racism is intimate and racism is emotional. If your policy is “don’t fuck black guys,” your policy is racist even if you keep the thought to yourself.

It’s not easy to consciously control who makes your dick hard. That doesn’t mean your shit ain’t racist. Racism doesn’t have to be conscious or a choice.

If you are racist, though, own it, seriously. Admit that, like most people, you have biases when it comes to race. And maybe you’re working on it. Or maybe you don’t give a damn and you’re not. But whatever the case, sugar-coating it can never change what it is.

  14. I find it hilarious that so many of these clowns fall all over themselves to defend this guy over an argument that amount to semantics. You might as well just say “I’m only attracted to white men” and preserve some intellectual honesty instead of posting this hysterical comments to defend your own behavior.

Would these same idiots parse words with a religious conservative who is opposed to gay marriage if they said they were just pro-heterosexual instead of anti-gay?

    Give me a fucking break.

  15. You idiots. He’s a douche not because he said he’s into whites but because he sounds arrogant. Bragging about how you love blocking people does not make you sound approachable or endearing.

  16. Hmmm. So being anything other than white is the same as being elderly, weighing a ton or being a goat.

    You people sound like morons.

The only reason this post was met with such indignation is because the commenters too have racialized sexual “preferences.” it’s hilarious to me to listen to gay men rationalize wonton superficiality and then acry any Conservative who pigeon-holes gays as shallow and sex-crazed.

If you draw attractiveness or a lack thereof along racial lines in a public forum then you deserve to be called a douche. Races are not attractive. Individuals are attractive. I guess Michelle Bachmann isn’t a homophobic if she just says he prefers straight people huh? If this paltry argument doesn’t suffice then maybe you should stop parsing over his word usage and look at the implications of his statement. All people of every race that isn’t white do not look the same. To suggest as much is blatant racial stereotyping.

  17. You can have your racial preferences I guess, but why feel the need to advertise them? All it really does is just make someone feel crappy about themselves.

Just keep that shit to yourself or simply don’t write back if it bothers you that much. No need to be an asshole.

  18. @Bear: “…he didn’t insult non-whites, he simply said that he likes white guys. I think that’s an acceptable way to state one’s preference in a positive way.”

“Into white guys!!” with two exclamation points is a positive way to state a preference? And he didn’t offend non-whites? LOL. The fact that you say that clearly shows you don’t know the power of indirect language or semantics. I’m in a racial minority and that offends me.

I don’t care that some men prefer a lighter skinned man over myself. What DOES bother me is when they insult me by saying “no blacks” or something ignorant that makes me sound inferior to other men.

    1) I am a black MAN, not a load of laundry you put in the washing machine. Most of the time these guys will put “white guys/men” but say no “blacks, Latinos, Asians”. This makes me cringe as much as people who say “Gays”.

    2) A preference does NOT exclude an entire race. That’s not preference, it’s segregation. It’s deep rooted especially in the US. Don’t believe me? You can even see it on the show “What Would You Do”. The straight interracial couples deal with it too. Gay men may have more rights these days but it doesn’t make some of them any more open minded or progressive.

Here’s what you need to know about gay men who aren’t in the racial majority: We were already born into one minority and being gay we are in another. We don’t want to be reminded of being discriminated against TWICE, especially from people in one of our minorities.

  19. Agree with post above. It’s not bitchy or really racist. He’s not using crappy food metaphors or saying sorry after being a bitch.
But I’m white ( very – celtic) so not sure how darker skin guys think aboit it.
